Hey friends and family!
We had a lovely time on Koh Phi Phi. It was hot and beautiful and we had so much fun! We spent a lot of our nights going to a rooftop bar called Banana Bar where they showed movies every night at 7pm. When we were there we made friends with these awesome guys from Canada! It was so cool to get to hang out with fellow Canadians. We spent a lot of time on the beach there. The beach there is different because the tide goes out so far, and the water only goes up to just above the knee, so you can sit in the water and just hang out all day. I got a killer tan too!! By the time we left the island, we were covered in bug bites!! We later discovered that there was absolutely no way we got bit by that many mesquitoes and realized that we got attacked by bed bugs when we were staying at the dorm. We had bites all over our hands, arms, and legs.. I've never been so uncomfortable, to not be able to sleep because you're so itchy. We left Koh Phi Phi on January 10 in the morning to come to Phuket and meet my parents on the 11th. When we first got to Phuket, we slept the entire day and just chilled out. We stayed at a place called the Golddiggers Restort. It was actually pretty nice, the name was hilarious. We had a living room, a seperate bedroom, a kitchen, and hot water!!! We've never felt so fancy in the past 2 months as we did right then.
We checked out of our room at 12pm on the 11th to go meet my mum, dad, and Tyler at the airport when their flight got in at 3. Their flight ended up being delayed 4 hours, so we were bored to tears. Luckily, Shannon had half of a mickey of Thai brandy in her bag from when we were on Koh Phangan, so we went to subway for lunch, got fountain drinks and mixed it with them. Unfortantely, the only pop they had there was orange fanta... thai brandy doesn't go great with orange fanta and no ice. We had one drink and then went to the mini mart in the airport and bought Bacardi breezers instead so we had a good buzz on when they got there. When my parents finally got off the plane, I ran to them! It was so great to see them and Tyler, being away for so long in a foriegn country, it was nice to just have a piece of home with me. We eventually got to the resort around 9pm, because it was about an hour and half drive away from the airport. When we got here, Shannon and I were in disbelief! The place was gorgeous!!!! There are 6 swimming pools, clean everything, fresh towels every day, and HOT water in the shower!!! Oh the little things that excite you when you've been backpacking for so long. When we took showers, we both agreed that we haven't felt that clean in months! It was unreal. We sort of felt out of place being in a place like this, but as the days go on, it's getting easier to adjust.
Yesterday we went to the market in Phuket Town, which is an hour drive away from where we're staying on Katathani Beach. The market was one of the biggest markets we've been to so far, second to Chiang Mai probably. We walked around for a few hours looking at the different things and then just came back to the resort and then went for dinner. We had a relaxing movie night with some drinks to celebrate Shannon's last night with us. She left us this morning and I cried buckets! We haven't been apart for more than 12 hours in the past 2 months so it was definitely a big change.
Tomorrow we head to Koh Phi Phi for 2 nights and then we will be going to Krabi from there. Can't wait to talk to you all soon!
xoxoxoxo Love you always and forever!

HEY EVERYONE!!!
I know it has been forever since I have written anything on here and I am so so so so sorry for that. I have been lazy... and there hasn't honestly been much to write about.
We spent Christmas and New Years on Koh Phangan. 9 days was just too long to spend there. It was incredible and we enjoyed every minute of it, but because that island is a constant party, 9 days is very hard to keep up with. Christmas Day, all 3 of us bought presents for each other so we all had 2 presents to open on Christmas morning. We drew a Christmas tree on a piece of paper and taped it up to our mirror, and placed the presents underneath it so it was just like a real tree. We relaxed most of the day and then went for a "traditional" Christmas dinner down at our guesthouse. They made us chicken, roast beef, fish, potatoes, the works! After dinner we went over to the bar next door called "The Rock" and quickly made friends with all the lovely guys that work there. We ended up spending the start of every night there for the full 9 days. We would always be given free drinks and were treated like one of the group. They even had a little going away party for us when we left. The rest of the time on Koh Phangan was the same as every other day there... I would usually stumble home around 730am when the music on the beach would stop, and then crawl into bed and sleep until around 4 or 5. By the 6th day I could barely walk up and down the stairs leading up to our place because of all the dancing I was doing. My ankles were so swollen and had been accidentally smacked together, so were bruised, from when I was sandwiched between 2 groups of people when walking to the bathroom, my knees were unable to bend and one was completely bruised because half way through the night, my dancing would always turn into random jumping for hours on end. My thighs burned, and every other muscle. I soon learned I can't go partying for 9 straight days. I became so so sick New Years Day with a fever, sore throat, achey muscles, the works. It was horrible.
We came to Koh Phi Phi on January 3 and it's been wonderful! It's much more relaxed and such a beautiful island. We actually wake up during day light while we're here! I've been working on my tan and got a small bamboo tattoo on the inside of my elbow the other night! so exciting!!!!
Will update again soon guys! LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO FRICKING MUCH!!!!

Hey guys!!
The Thai cooking class we took was amazing! We went out to a farm where they grow all their own ingredients and learned to make pad Thai, spring rolls, coconut milk soup, masaman curry, and sticky rice with mango. They even give you a cook book at the end with all the recipes you made plus a few more. It was a great day. When we got home we took a nap and didn't wake up till 1030 pm, so Shannon and I got ready and went out dancin!
We spent the rest of our time in Chiang Mai just relaxing and meeting new people. The family that owns and runs the guest house we stayed at were amazing!! They were so sweet and funny and helped us with everything. The other day we ended up changing our plans for Christmas and new years all together. We now have decided to go back to koh phangan in Thailand for both. It was nearly impossible to find a place to stay, luckily we were smart enough to think to book ahead, otherwise we'd probably end up sleeping on the beach. We searched online for hours and every place was completely booked, then we finally found one on the right side of the island that had rooms together so we called them but the lady didn't understand me And I couldn't understand her... It was impossible! When we got back to our guesthouse the lovely lady who works there was nice enough to call there for us and sort it all out, securing us a room for December 24-January 2! Turns out part of the reason it was so hard is that there's another full moon party on Christmas and new years on koh phangan is insane! People have told us once you've experienced new years there, nothing will ever compare! 2 beach parties in one week!!! We're all so excited! The next 4 weeks for us will be spent by the beach, oh what a though life paradise is!
We arrived in luang prabang, Laos, this morning at 530am. What an awful bus trip that was!!! We left Chiang Mai at 10am and it took till 530am to get here. The bus was the most uncomfortable one we've been on so far and the guy sitting beside me took up half my seat and kept falling asleep on me! When I eventually would fall asleep, it was so bumpy that when we went over a bump my head would smash into the window. My head and back hurt so much today. When we finally got here there were no guesthouses open... We finally found one at 630am. The floors were woven wicker, the beds hard as rock with dips in the middle, the ceiling had holes as did the upper walls, the toilets didn't flush... You had to use the bucket to flush them, and you could hear everything in the rooms beside us. We decided to sleep till 1 then go on the search for a new place to stay. We found one with proper walls and beds, tv, fan, and wifi! Thank goodness!!!
Tomorrow we go buy our plane tickets to Thailand for the 22nd!
I love you and miss you all! Will update again soon.

Hey everyone!
So much has happened! We left Bangkok on Tuesday night to come to Chiang Mai on a night bus... that was interesting because of how hung over we were on our 12 hour bus right... not much fun. I ended up sitting next to some guy who had an iPad and was watching movies, so he let me watch them with him which really helped make the time go by faster. We talked for a while and he actually lives in Chiang Mai so was able to give me some pointers for our trip. As soon as we got here Wednesday morning, we went straight to the guest house and fell asleep until about 3pm... it was 630am when we first got here. We didn't do much that day.
On Thursday we went to Tiger Kingdom. It was amazing! We got to cuddle and pet the baby cubs and the full grown tigers. It was definitely not something I would have the opportunity to do at home. We had our photos professionally taken with the baby cubs, they aren't on Facebook yet though because we have to find a computer that has a disc drive. We took our own photos with the full grown tigers, they are uploaded now so you can all have a peak. They were so friendly and lovable... I just wanted to take them home with me. We had a very quiet night on Thursday because we knew we were going to have a full busy day on Friday. We woke up at 7am o n Friday to go on a one day trek. The trek started by taking us to the jungle where we rode elephants!!! Shannon and I shared an elephant and it was huge! It was the biggest one they had. He was 29 years old and weighed 4 tons. As I am sure most of you know, I am deathly afraid of heights, so being way up there with nothing strapping you in was terrifying. There was a seat with a rail to hold on to, but that was all. It was definitely the most scary but exciting experience of my life. I couldn't believe it. One of the baby elephants gave me a big kiss on the cheek with his trunk... man those guys have suction! haha. The elephant rides took an hour, after that we went up to Karen Village. We saw women making silk scarves and tons of awesome animals running around. We didn't stay there long, we then went to the waterfall which was absolutely beautiful. Again, I overcame my fear of heights by walking across so many bridges that didn't have railings... I was terrified but I did it!!! The trek back to the van from the waterfall was probably close to an hour, once we got there they took us to have lunch which consisted of rice, veggies, and a curry soup. It was delicious. After lunch we went bamboo rafting!!! That was so much fun! we got so soaked and the water was freezing, but all in all, the whole day was absolutely worth waking up early for and overcoming a fear. We went out for dinner last night to a Mexican restaurant and drank margaritas! We ordered a pitcher of them... not realizing how much booze a pitcher really was... it was a lot and they were so strong!! It was still pretty early at this time... probably around 7pm... we were all in bed by about 1230am.
Today, because we were so busy the past couple of days, we decided to have a lazy relaxing day. We slept in until around 1pm, then woke up and I spent most of the day beside the pool reading my book. Later in the afternoon we went out to get Thai massages... they were incredible!!! We just finished them about half an hour ago and I feel so relaxed. They use a lot of pressure and actually get right up on top of you... it's different but it feels amazing. Tonight we're going to go get some ice, take it back to our room, and drink the rest of the booze we bought at 7/11 last night! Tomorrow will be another quiet day, Monday we're going for a 12 hour Thai cooking class on a farm where they grow all the ingredients right there, and Tuesday we're going to the Longneck Village. I will be sure to keep you updated on how all those exciting events go!!
Love you all so much and miss you so much too!!

Hey every one!
On Thursday we went to the killing fields in Phnom Penh and the Genocide Museum. It was one of the saddest experiences of my life, it's so depressing to be there but uplifting at the same time. It's hard to explain. The genocide museum actually used to be a school many years ago, and was later turned into a place where they held the prisoners and tortured them. Hearing some of the survivor stories was hearbreaking. The killing fields was even harder to go to. They give you a headset to listen to as you walk through the fields, explaining everything that happened in great detail. It's amazing how much a horrible place that was once filled with so much horror can be so peaceful and graceful now. It really opens up your eyes and makes you appreciate what you have. I left there feeling so blessed with all that I have at home, the safety and security that some people never get to know. It made me want to be a better person and made me feel like I really don't have a right to complain about anything, because at the end of the day, I really do have an amazing life filled with amazing people.
The next day we left Cambodia at 6am to come back to Bangkok by bus. About 2 hours into our bus ride, a tire blew. It was pretty scary and definitely woke me up from my sleep. They fixed it very fast and we were on our way again. It took us about 17 hours to get to Bangkok, so when we got here we ate dinner and went straight to bed.
We were planning to go to Chang Mai on Monday, but the bus was full so we will be leaving Bangkok and heading up to Chang Mai tomorrow instead. It's a 12 hour bus ride and it's a night bus so hopefully we'll be able to sleep through most of it. We will be arriving there at about 630 in the morning, which usually means add another 2 hours on top of that... haha.
Last night we went out dancing and it was a lot of fun. I didn't get home until about 5am so I decided to sleep until 12, then we went for a late hangover breakfast and did a little shopping. I bought myself a beautiful silky dress yesterday for very cheap, and a couple of tank tops today. Pretty productive I would say...
Yesterday was grandma and papa's 60th wedding anniversary party, so Auntie Brenda took her laptop over there and I was able to skype with everyone. It really felt like I was right there with them! It was awesome!
I love you and m iss you all and will write again as soon as I can in Chang Mai!

Hey everyone!
I know it's been awhile, and I'm so sorry! We just arrived in phnom penh, the capital city of Cambodia, 2 days ago. We had spent one week in sihanoukville which was amazing! One week of sitting and relaxing by the beach! Couldn't ask for much more than that :).
We really didn't get up to much while we were there, which was a nice break. I did on the other hand have plenty of time to work on my tan! There's a theater there called top cat cinema, we went there 2 nights in a row, we loved it so much. It's a very laid back place where for $3.50 you get your own VIP room for you and your friends, and your choice of 1000's of movies. Our room had mats on the floors with tons of pillows and blankets, and we watched 3 awesome movies!
I haven't seen any oh phnom penh yet as I've been very sick with a cold. The day we got here is when it hit me, sore throat, bad cough, headache and nausea. It's starting to pass now, because ive been cooped up in my room resting. I didn't sleep well in sihanoukville because of the heat, so that along with the ac... I think my immune system just got run down.
I'll keep you updated as soon as I start doing more! I love you and muss every one of you!
Xoxo always and forever,

Hi everyone!!
Today was a very interesting and fun day! When we woke up we went for breakfast and then got picked up to go to the floating village. The homes we drove past in our tuk tuk almost brought a tear to my eye. To see the conditions that these people live in, and how happy they are is amazing. We are so fortunate with all that we have at home. These people have so little and yet are able to see so much positive, and we whine when we don't have enough money to do some fun activity. We really have no idea what hardship is.
When we got to our boat, we met with our tour guide ray. He is a 22 year old Cambodian man. Very friendly and so much fun to be with. He took us first to the market where we bought noodles and water for the orphan children at the school. We then took the groceries to the school where we were so warmly greeted by about 25 children. They were climbing all over us. They kept trying to get us to pick them up and were fascinated by my tattoos and piercings. They were ADORABLE! I took many photos of them. They are from Vietnam and none of them have families, they only have each other, and yet again, they seemed so happy.
After we left the floating school we went further into the lake. Shannon, Lisa, and ray all jumped into the water with their clothes on for a swim, I stayed on the boat and worked on my tan :) haha. They only swam for about 10 minutes, then we took off to the crocodile farm. I held a snake too, he places ir behind my shoulders... It felt so gross and cool at the same time, shannon and i both did it. There we also drank rice wine. Oh my god is it ever strong... It's about 40% and you have to take it all in one drink. I drank as much as I could before I just couldn't drink anymore. As we were leaving ray bought us some beers to drink on the boat on our way back. Lol he was probably the funnest tour guide I've ever met in my life.
When we got back to land we ate bbq'd snake... I was freaked out but it really wasn't as bad ad I thought it would be... It tasted a lot like BBQ chicken... I know people always say that but it's true. One piece I opened up had eggs in it, so that was the end of that for me.. Haha.
Tonight we're going to have a BBQ at the hotel were staying at with the staff and bother guests... It only cost us $5 and they're cooking up pigs ears and tongue, along with other things... They eat some wierd stuff here, but when am I ever going to be in Cambodia again? Better live life to the fullest!
Tomorrow we leave siem reap to go to sihanoukville, it's more of a beach resort type place and will take 9 hours by bus to get to. After that we head to phnom penh. I'm very excited about both places!!
That's all for now. Love you and miss you all sooooooo much!!!!
